A wooden yacht for sale in Labuan Bajo comes from a large working fleet: KSOP counted 340 phinisi among 707 registered vessels in September 2025. October 2026 listings there included a 1998 traditional hull, the 47 m Mutiara, a 2023 dive liveaboard (listing since expired) and a 40 m project, with asking prices in the table here.

Labuan Bajo is a working harbour rather than a sales marina. Many boats here are earning a living, and their condition, permits and bookings all affect what a sale really involves. That makes it a good place to look, and a place where you need local help.

What do the KSOP numbers say about the fleet?

Labuan Bajo Voice reported KSOP Class III figures dated 10 September 2025.

So a substantial share of the fleet is wooden. That count does not tell you about age, condition or how many boats are on the market. Emerhub, a commercial consultant, adds that Labuan Bajo lies about 270 nautical miles east of Bali, and reports about 432,000 visitors in 2025, citing Tempo.

What was listed in October 2026?

The price table on this page quotes six examples with sources. Here is how they differ, leaving the figures to the table.

• 1998 traditional hull. On YachtWorld. Age alone makes survey history central.
• Mutiara. 47 m with ten cabins, shown by Yacht Sourcing.
• 2023 dive liveaboard. 91 ft with six cabins and twelve berths on Boat Guru. The listing had expired when we checked.
• Unfinished 40 m project. Offered as a company takeover on Divecenterforsale.
• Bursakapal marketplace snippet. A used wooden boat, June 2026. Treat it as a lead only.
• KapalAku forum post. A 2015 hull of 14.75 m, negotiable, date uncertain.

How do you arrange a haul-out and surveyor in Labuan Bajo?

Plan the logistics before you agree a price. We name no surveyors or yards here, since we could not verify a list. Ask these questions early:

1. Where is the nearest slip that can physically take this hull, by length, draft and weight?
2. If that is elsewhere, who pays for the move, and who bears the risk on the way?
3. Will your surveyor travel, and how many days will the job take?
4. Can the boat stop charter work for the period of the survey?
5. Is the seller willing to open panels and allow samples of fastenings?

A remote location raises the cost of being thorough, and it's tempting to skimp as a result. Boatmere lists refused haul-outs among the warning signs for a deal, whatever the reason given. Allow for a return visit too, since a repeat look after the sea trial may be needed.

What is published about berthing at Labuan Bajo Marina?

Superyacht Guide describes Labuan Bajo Marina as offering berths, fuel and maintenance support. We could not confirm current capacity, rates or how long a visiting wooden yacht may stay. Contact the marina before planning around it.

Ask where the boat is kept now. A boat on a mooring in a busy bay needs a different kind of care from one in a marina, and it may have had a different kind of life. If you plan to base her here, ask about the rules that apply to moorings, anchoring and any park-related permits, and get answers in writing.

How do the Komodo season and the 2025 safety record affect a purchase?

Neptune Liveaboards puts the Komodo dry season at about April to October or November, with calmer seas and the best visibility from June to September. Emerhub reports operators working Bali to Komodo from May to October, then repositioning towards Raja Ampat.

For a buyer this cuts two ways. In high season, a working boat may be booked, and it may be hard to get her out of service for a week. In the quieter months she may be easier to haul, and a seller may be more open to a conversation.

Safety matters too. Media reported at least six tourist phinisi sinking in the waters around Labuan Bajo in 2025, and KSOP at one point temporarily closed sailing for tourist boats. We do not name boats or operators here. Take it as a reason for close attention to survey, safety gear and insurance, and ask a seller directly about the boat's own record.

Which permits stay with an operating boat?

Separate the vessel's papers from the operator's. DJPL's technical guidance says SIUPAL is issued to an Indonesian legal entity to carry out sea transport, so buying a boat doesn't give you permission to carry passengers. Emerhub reports that a liveaboard operator needs SIUPAL, SIOPSUS and SIUPAR, and it reports three to six months for a foreign-invested company and its permits.

How many wooden boats are there in Labuan Bajo?

KSOP Labuan Bajo counted 707 registered vessels operating in September 2025, as reported by Labuan Bajo Voice. Of those, 340 were phinisi and 86 were ordinary wooden boats. It is a count of operating vessels, and does not show how many are for sale.

Where can I berth a wooden yacht in Labuan Bajo?

Superyacht Guide describes Labuan Bajo Marina with berths, fuel and maintenance support. Ask the marina directly whether it can take your length and draft, and for how long. If you plan to use a mooring or anchorage instead, ask about the rules and permissions for each.

Can I get a survey and haul-out in Labuan Bajo?

Ask before you sign. We could not verify a list of surveyors or slipways able to take large hulls there, and a big boat may need to move elsewhere for a haul-out. Make that move a contract item, with who pays and who carries the risk.

When is the best time to view a boat in Labuan Bajo?

Neptune Liveaboards gives Komodo's dry season as roughly April to October or November. Boats in charter may be busy then, which can limit access for a survey, while the off season may be better for yard time. Ask the seller about the boat's schedule.

Do a boat's permits come with her when she is sold?

Do not assume so. Operating licences such as SIUPAL belong to a company, so owning the boat is not the same as holding permission to carry guests. Ask which documents belong to the vessel and which to the operator, and have a maritime lawyer confirm what transfers.
